The Art of Giving

Over the festive period, SURFACE 1°22 designers Serene Lin, Edward Chan and Adilah Amri participated in a multi-disciplinary design project exhibited at Scotts Square. 'The Art of Giving' showcased twelve one-of-a-kind gifts, that were exhibited as part design competition (the winner receiving a $5000 cash prize), and part philanthropy (with Wheelock Properties pledging to donate $10,000 to a charity nominated by the winning designer).

SURFACE 1°22 collaborator Serene Lin took out top honours, commended for her Singapore-centric, hand screen printed Bak Chang (rice dumpling) plushies. Inspired by nostalgia; childhood toys, candy, food and playgrounds her designs won many hearts and contributed to her selected charity; MILK (Mainly I Love Kids) supporting disadvantaged children.
